Usage Fees and Information

Sanctuary (Weddings and Memorial/Funeral Services)

 Sanctuary Fees

 Wedding Ceremony: $550

  •   5 hour usage period includes Sanctuary and Narthex (lobby)

o   one hour rehearsal prior to wedding day

o   two hours prior to wedding ceremony for preparation and photos

o   one hour wedding ceremony

o   one hour after ceremony for clean-up and photos

o   if available, Church Parlor for bridal party preparation prior to ceremony

o   Two floor candelabras (each holds 7 tapers provided by bridal party)

o   Additional time at $110/hour or for portion of each additional hour

Memorial Service/Funeral Service: $450

  • 4 hour usage period includes Sanctuary and Narthex (lobby)

o   two hours prior to service for preparation and gathering

o   one hour service

o   one hour after service for clean-up and gathering

o   if available, Church Parlor for family gathering prior to service

o   Additional time at $110/hour or for portion of each additional hour

 

Fellowship Hall Fees

  •  Fee is $100/hour for reserved time and any portion of each additional hour

o   Reserved time is start time of preparation, actual event (usually two hours) and  clean-up time; would recommend planning to set-up/decorate two hours prior to event start time and cleaning up for one hour after end of reception (for example, reserved time for a wedding beginning at 3:00 pm would be 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm)

o   includes use of and set-up and break-down of tables and chairs

o   includes kitchen and limited use of kitchen appliances. Please note that there is no refrigerator space available in the kitchen. User must provide their own coolers. The stove/oven may be used to heat up food but not for cooking. The kitchen does not contain a dishwasher.

o   Group provides all consumable supplies (table cloths, flatware, plates, napkins, cups, food,
   etc.)

o   Group leaves kitchen cleaned up

Hiring the church facilities manager is required.

If kitchen will not be used - meaning group will not enter the kitchen at all, fee is $50/hour for reserved time and any portion of each additional hour.

Other Fees

Facilities Manager

Hiring the church facilities manager is required for one hour before, during and one hour after the usage period for recitals, weddings and memorial/funeral services (and receptions)

o   $30/hour fee payable directly to Facilities Manager

o   Duties include:

  • unlocking/locking church
  • controlling heating
  • general cleaning of areas reserved prior to/after event including common areas and restrooms
  • arrangement of Sanctuary furniture as group requests
  • other preparation and clean-up tasks as group requests

Church office will check availability and furnish contact information

Hiring the church pastor is optional for a wedding or memorial/funeral service, however, the church pastor must give permission for an outside pastor to officiate

o   $200 fee payable directly to church pastor (subject to the discretion of the pastor)

o   Fee includes

§  preparing ceremony/service with the couple/family

§  bulletin preparation

§  rehearsal (wedding only)

§  prenuptial conversation (wedding only)

§  ceremony/service

vFor a wedding, couple must arrange for a prenuptial conversation one month prior to the wedding ceremony if the church pastor is the officiant.

Director of Music Ministries

vHiring Parkway’s Director of Music Ministries is optional

vConsult with Director of Music Ministries for fee which is paid directly to Director of Music Ministries

o   Fee includes

§  consultation time for musical selections

§  ceremony/service

o   Fee is for services of a professional musician despite how many or how few pieces are performed; asking for a "per piece" price is not appropriate

o   If presence is required at a rehearsal, plan this with the Director of Music Ministries directly; additional fee will be negotiated

o   Church office will check availability and furnish contact information

vDirector of Music Ministries can recommend soloists and provide contact information; can arrange rehearsals with soloists; fees payable directly to soloists.

vIf party wishes to use Director of Music Ministries, or other musician of their own choosing, they must coordinate this with Parkway’s Director of Music Ministries.

Sound System

· Using church sound system is optional

· Consult with the Director of Music Ministries for fee; fee includes consultation time and ceremony/service

 

 

Security Deposit and Payment

 A security deposit of $250 is required before a reservation can be confirmed. A larger deposit may be required to larger events. This deposit is refundable upon passing inspection of the facility following the event. Retrieve deposit from the church office within the week following the event. Check with church office to arrange for deposit retrieval.  

 All other fees must be paid in full to the church office at least two weeks prior to the date of the event. Failure to do so could jeopardize your event.

 Additional Information

 1.      Contact the church office (617-698-8583 or MiltonUMC@verizon.net) to inquire about the availability of     the building on the proposed date of your event. Keep in mind that the facilities manager must also be available. If you intend to ask the pastor to officiate or hire the Director of Music Ministries, time must be given to check schedules.

2.      Church trustees and pastor must approve use of building.

3.      Activity is restricted to areas which have been reserved in advance.

4.      Fees are payable directly to participants (facilities manager, pastor, etc.) except Usage Fees which are payable to "Parkway United Methodist Church” and submitted to the office administrator.

5.       Appropriate decorations, photo memorials and flowers may be placed in the Sanctuary and
 Chancel (front). Floral arrangements may be placed in the Chancel. Pew (floral) decorations must be attached with pew clips that will not leave marks when removed. There are xxx pews (xxx on each side). The facilities manager will assist with arranging furniture and other items.

6.      Obtaining a marriage license is the responsibility of the wedding couple.

7.       No rice, rose pedals, confetti or birdseed may be thrown in the building. Birdseed and/or
 bubble blowing is allowed on the exterior front steps.

8.      The center aisle length in the Sanctuary is xxx feet. It is xxx inches wide.

9.      The church address is 158 Blue Hills Avenue, Milton, MA 02186.

10.  Photography and videotaping - Users can set up audio visual recording equipment in balcony.

 11.  Party must provide a parking lot attendant for any event that will have more than 20 cars.

 12.  Party must provide 3 greeters to cover the doors to the building and to aid participants in using the elevator.

 13.  Parking lot has 20 spaces. There is a possibility that overflow parking might be arranged. Check with church office to see if this will be possible.

 14.  There may be other groups in the building depending on the date/time.

 15.  Food and drink are not allowed in the Sanctuary.

 16.  Smoking and alcoholic beverages are not allowed anywhere in the building.
